A full toilet renovation covers protection, hacking out old tiles and fittings, waterproofing, re-routing pipes where the layout changes, wall and floor tiling, sanitary fittings, a vanity cabinet, a shower screen, ventilation and lighting, then sealing and a final clean. Each item sits on its own line in your quote, so nothing is left vague.

Why Waterproofing Is the Line Never to Cut
Waterproofing is the layer under your tiles that keeps water in the toilet and out of the walls and the flat below. Once tiled over, nobody can see it, which makes it the easiest line to cut and the costliest to fix later: a leak means hacking up your new tiles and starting again.
Whoever you hire, check four things on the quote:
- The waterproofing product, named on the line, not just the word waterproofing.
- Where it goes: the whole floor, turned up the walls, and higher around the shower.
- Time to cure, and a water test before any tile is laid.
- Who answers for a leak after handover, in writing.
On our quotes, waterproofing is its own line, laid by our licensed trade partners after the hacking and before the tiling.
Old HDB Toilet Renovation: What Changes in an Older Flat
Older HDB toilets often come with worn pipes, dated tiles and poor ventilation. Renovating one usually means hacking the old finishes, laying new waterproofing, replacing pipes that show their age and fitting an exhaust fan. We check the toilet on site during the free measurement and price only what it actually needs.
In a 4-room HDB, renovating the common toilet and the master bathroom together means one round of hacking, one set of approvals and one handover, instead of living through the dust twice.
HDB Toilet Renovation Rules to Check Before Hacking
HDB requires flat owners to use a contractor listed in its Directory of Renovation Contractors, and some toilet works, such as hacking floor finishes or walls, need HDB approval before they start. Condo toilets follow the MCST's by-laws instead, and we prepare that paperwork for you. Either way, the rules go into the plan before work starts.
HDB sets out which works need approval on its renovation guidelines page. As a design-and-build renovation contractor, we check every toilet plan against those rules, and noisy works such as hacking follow HDB's permitted hours.
Toilet Renovation Prices, From One Toilet to Two
A toilet renovation with us starts from $6,500 per toilet, with 9% GST included. The whole order needs to come to $10,000 or more, so a single toilet is paired with a second toilet, the kitchen or other works. The final price depends on the tiles, fittings, vanity length and how much hacking the room needs.

A Vanity Built in Our Factory to Fit Your Wall
Your vanity cabinet is built in our own factory in Admiralty, on BestPly E0 plywood with at most 0.5 mg/L of formaldehyde, a third of the E1 limit. Because we build it, it is made to the width of your wall and around your pipes and basin, not a stock size with a gap at one end.
Vanity cabinets are priced from $151 per foot run on our published rate card, in laminate finishes, with the basin and countertop on their own lines.
When Your New Toilet Is Ready, in Writing
We do not promise a number of days before we have seen your toilet. Once the design is signed off and the site is measured, the handover date goes into your contract, and if we miss it, we pay you $5,000, taken off what you still owe at handover. Changes you ask for can move it.
The on-time guarantee sets out how the date is fixed and what else can move it, such as an HDB permit or MCST approval that arrives late.
