Condo interior design for new launch and resale units across Singapore

Condo interior design in Singapore works inside two sets of limits: the unit's floor plan and your condo's own rules on approvals and working hours. Best Interior Design designs and renovates new launch and resale condos, builds the carpentry in our own factory in Admiralty, and prepares the MCST paperwork for you.

New Launch or Resale Condo: Where the Work Goes

A new launch unit usually comes from the developer with its kitchen, bathrooms and floors in place, so the work is mostly carpentry, lighting and finishes. A resale unit often needs more: hacking, rewiring, new floors and new toilets, so it starts from a higher price and needs more time on site.

For a new launch, the design can start from the developer's floor plan before you collect your keys, so the carpentry can go into production soon after the site measurement. For a resale unit, send photos of the kitchen and bathrooms with the floor plan, so the quote reflects what has to come out.

Either way, every cabinet body is BestPly E0 plywood, which releases at most 0.5 mg/L of formaldehyde, a third of the E1 limit. It is the standard board in every job, which counts in a closed-up unit with the air-conditioning on.

MCST Approval, Renovation Deposits and Working Hours

Condo renovation needs approval from your MCST before work starts, and usually a renovation deposit. Working hours, including when noisy works such as hacking can run, follow your condo's by-laws. We prepare the MCST paperwork for you and plan the order of works around those hours.

The deposit and the permitted hours differ from condo to condo, so we read your by-laws before we set the schedule, and noisy works stay inside the hours your neighbours expect.

Designing a Small Condo for Storage and Light

In a small condo, storage has to be built in, because there is rarely room for loose furniture. Full-height wardrobes, a platform bed with drawers, a TV console that doubles as a bench and lit niches instead of open shelves keep the floor clear and the room bright. In a 2-bedroom unit, the second room often becomes a study.

  • 2-bedroom condo interior design: a study or nursery in the second bedroom, and a dining console that doubles as a desk.
  • 3-bedroom units: a guest room or study, wardrobes in every bedroom and storage along the corridor.
  • Lofts and high ceilings: built-ins that use the full height, with lit display niches.
  • Balconies: carpentry made for the space, such as the pet house we built at Riversound Residence.

Condo Renovation Prices for New and Resale Units

With us, a new condo of 2 to 3 bedrooms starts from $24,000 and a resale condo from $60,000, with 9% GST included. 2026 cost guides put a new condo renovation at $44,000 to $62,000 and a resale condo at $78,000 to $105,000. Our figures are starting points, and the quote follows your plan line by line.

The gap between new and resale comes from what has to come out. If a resale kitchen is dated, hacking it out and rebuilding it is part of the job, and our kitchen renovation page shows what that involves. Every package, with what it includes, is on our packages and prices page.

Condo Carpentry From Our Factory: Parc Esta, Riversound and Dairy Farm

Our factory built the carpentry in these condo homes. At Parc Esta, a loft unit, that meant a TV console running to the window, a dining console, a fluted bedroom wall and lit niches. Riversound Residence has a lattice display wall and a pet house on the balcony, and Dairy Farm Residences a wardrobe and a platform bed.

A Handover Date That Allows for MCST Approval

Your handover date goes into the contract once the design is signed off and the unit is measured. If we miss it, we pay you $5,000, taken off what you still owe at handover, with any balance paid by bank transfer within 7 days. A late MCST approval or a change you ask for moves the date.

The on-time guarantee terms set out how the date is fixed and exactly what can move it.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Much Does Condo Interior Design Cost in Singapore?

With us, a new condo of 2 to 3 bedrooms starts from $24,000 and a resale condo from $60,000, with 9% GST included. Resale units start higher because they usually need hacking, rewiring, new floors and new toilets, and every item is listed separately in your quote.

Do I Need MCST Approval to Renovate My Condo?

Yes. Renovation needs your MCST's approval and usually a deposit, and works must keep to the hours in your condo's by-laws. We prepare the MCST paperwork for you.

Can I Keep the Developer's Kitchen and Wardrobes?

Yes. If they work for you, we plan the new carpentry around them, and your quote lists only what you add.

How Long Does a Condo Renovation Take?

Once MCST approval is in, carpentry typically takes 3 to 5 weeks in our factory while the site works run, and installation typically takes 5 to 10 working days. A resale unit with hacking and rewiring needs more time on site before installation.

Will New Carpentry Smell in a Closed-Up Condo?

Every cabinet body we build is BestPly E0 plywood, which releases at most 0.5 mg/L of formaldehyde, a third of the E1 limit. It comes as standard, not as an upgrade you pay extra for.

Can We Visit the Factory Before We Sign?

Yes. Once we have your brief, we can arrange a visit to our factory at Northlink Building, 10 Admiralty Street, so you can see boards and cabinets being built for other homes.
